Karahe

About this coffee

Situated in the mountains of north-central Burundi, the Karehe Washing Station works with the local chapter of the International Women’s Coffee Alliance to produce this coffee, grown entirely by small-scale women farmers.

High elevations and rich volcanic soil create the characteristic profile of a high quality Burundi coffee. Deep raisin and currant notes meld with rich, soft caramels, leading to a wine-like finish.
